Coaching ExperienceCoach Wilson started his coaching career as an Assistant Baseball Coach/Hitting Coach at Lindenwood College from 1996-1997. He then became Assistant Baseball Coach at Lake Highlands from 1999-2003. He was Head Baseball Coach at Desoto High School 2003-2004. He has been the Berkner Rams Head Coach from 2004 to present. EducationCoach Wilson graduated from Lindenwood College in 1997 with a degree in History. His playing experience was as the starting catcher at the University of Missouri-St. Louis from 1992-1995. Missouri-St. Louis is a Division II school. They were ranked all 4 years. Coach Wilson played in the college world series in 1993.PersonalCoach Wison has been married to his wife, Amy for 12 years. She is a CPA for Trammell Crow Company. They have a son, Chance, age 5.Varsity Assistant Coach Trent Starnes
Coaching ExperienceBHS Assistant Baseball Coach from 2005-present. Coach Starnes has also been a member of the Berkner Varsity coaching staff since 2005.EducationCoach Starnes graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University in 2004 with a bachelor's degree in Kinesiology and a minor in Special Education. Coaches football (freshman defensive coach) and begins his 4th season with baseballPersonalMarried to wife Cassie since August of 2004. She is an underwriter for Market Scout Corporation. Coach Starnes and wife Cassie have added a beautiful baby boy to their family named Lane, born January 09. The Starnes also have a dog named Molly.
Varsity Assistant Coach Dave Handal
Coaching ExperienceCoach Handal has coached 8 years at Berkner High School, currently as Defensive Coordinator. This is his first year coaching baseball. EducationCoach Handal has earned his Bachelor degree from Texas A & M Univeristy in College Station, Texas. He has also earned his Master degree from the University of North Texas. PersonalCoach Handal is married to wife Jill who is currently working as a 1st grade teacher in Frisco ISD. The Handals have 2 children: Kasen - 8, and Keegan - 5. Kasen will be helping the Rams baseball team this year as a batboy.
Junior Varsity Coach Rob Clearfield
Coaching ExperienceCoach Clearfield coached for 1 year in Garland, then 6 years at Wylie. At Wylie he was the JV Head Coach for 2 years, and also was on the varsity football coaching staff. This is Coach Clearfield's second year at Berkner. EducationCoach Clearfield graduated in 1996 from Texas A&M Commerce with a Bachelor of Science degree in History.PersonalCoach Clearfield has been married to his wife Courtney for 8 years. Courtney works in Garland at the administration building in testing/research. She is working on her masters at Texas A&M Commerce.
